Hickory’s Oktoberfest returns to Downtown Hickory from Friday, October 9, through Sunday, October 11, 2026. The three-day festival fills Union Square and approximately four surrounding city blocks with live music, KidsFest activities, beer tents, food vendors and craft vendors.
The Hickory Downtown Development Association hosts the annual event as a celebration of the city’s German heritage and its connection with Altenburger Land, Germany. KidsFest 2026
KidsFest is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. The published lineup includes DJ Willy Wow, the InterACTive Theater of Jef, Pitch Perfect, Hickory Ballet Performing Arts, Kristin’s Little Big Farm Petting Zoo and free inflatables. Some vendor activities, including face painting, sand art, gem mining and putt-putt, may require a separate purchase.
